True humility is putting the interests of God and other people before yourself (Philippians 2:3-4).  Proud people believe that life is all about them.  Humble people are focused on God and others, not self.  We need to identify prideful traits toward others and, instead, express humility.

Pride Humility
Having an unteachable spirit (John 9:24-34) Being willing to learn from others (Proverbs 19:20)
Seeking to tear people down (Proverbs 12:18)  Seeking always to build up others (Ephesians 4:29)
Unwillingness to serve others (Ephesians 2:10) Looking for ways to serve others (Galatians 5:13)
A lack of compassion for others (James 2:15-16) Showing compassion by your deeds (Luke 10:30-36)
A lack of granting and asking for forgiveness (Matthew 18:23-35) A quickness to ask for and grant forgiveness (Colossians 3:12-14)
Being jealous or envious of others (1 Corinthians 13:4) Being genuinely happy for others (Romans 12:15)
Thinking you have arrived spiritually (Proverbs 16:18) Being honest about areas you need to grow in (Philippians 3:12-14)

Without humility toward God and others, we will not be the kind of Christians Christ wants us to be.
