True humility is putting the interests of God and other people before yourself (Philippians 2:3-4).  Proud people believe that life is all about them.  Humble people are focused on God and others, not self.  We need to identify prideful traits toward God and, instead, express humility.

Pride

Humility

Reacting negatively to teaching that salvation is totally of God (Romans 9:18-21)

Realize salvation is totally by God’s grace (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Complaining and passing judgment on God (Numbers 14:1-4)

No right to question or judge God (Psalm 145:17)

Pursuing your own agenda either personally or in ministry (Matthew 5:1-9)

Committed to pursuing God’s will (John 4:34)

Lack of gratitude for God’s goodness to us (2 Chronicles 32:25)

Being overwhelmed by God's goodness (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Relying on self or others for needs (James 4:2)

Constantly depending on God (John 15:5b).

Being self-indulgent and stingy in your living (Matthew 6:21)

Faithful and generous giver (2 Corinthians 8:3-4)

It is impossible to seek self-glory and God’ glory at the same time.  It is impossible to focus on pleasing yourself and pleasing God at the same time.
