The key to the success of any organization, city, state or nation is the right kind of leadership.  Proverbs 11:14—“Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many wise advisers.”  Proverbs 29:2—“When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.  But when the wicked are in power, they groan.”

The book of Proverbs describes for us the kind of leaders we need.  We need leaders…

1. Who have moral integrity.  Proverbs 16:12— “Good leaders abhor wrong doings of all kind.  Sound leadership has moral foundations.”
2. Who are consistently honest.  Proverbs 6:12—“Here is a description of worthless and wicked people:  they are constant liars.”
3. Who are fair and just.  Proverbs 20:28—“A king will remain in power as long as his rule is honest, just and fair.”
4. Who have a reverence for God and the Bible.  Proverbs 1:7—“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of true knowledge.”
5. Who have demonstrated good judgment.  Proverbs 29:4—“A leader with good judgment gives stability.  An exploiting leader leaves a tail of waste.”

​This is why we are in trouble in America.  We have very few leaders like the one described in Proverbs.  Be careful how you choose your leaders.
